A very special piece that conceptualizes the aesthetic of the Visions of Humanity brand. This piece took over 6 months to make. From sourcing all the materials, to handcrafting the designs of the squares, this quilt is an art piece. The idea was to design and make a quilt that combined a variety of different high quality textiles (which includes a combination of hand-picked upcycled and new fabrics) to create one unified piece.
Details of the Quilt:
The quilt includes two types of upcycled genuine leathers - one smooth and one embossed, washed black denim from 4 pairs of upcycled vintage Levis 501 jeans, as well as a luxe black velvet used as a border for the quilt and the backing for the quilt. All of the velvet used in the quilt is of new material. The quilt features gunmetal hardware throughout, hand-stitched sashiko stitching (a Japanese technique used for reinforcing and mending fabrics) with bandanas, Levis branding via patches and tags, distressed detailing, Visions of Humanity star logos, screen-printed logos and text, a top handle and more. The quilt is lined with 100% pure cotton mid-loft batting. The entire backing of the quilt is a soft luxurious velvet to ensure functionality of a throw. Use it as a throw, a piece of art on your wall, or draped over your sofa as deco.
